Jabez Spann

Jabez was reportedly an excellent athlete and an all-around great kid. Liked many teens, he loved sports, video games, his grandma’s southern cooking, and his cell phone. He’s described by many as having a great smile and was always cracking jokes to make others smile. On August 28, 2017, he allegedly witnessed a murder, which led to his disappearance and the end of his life.

Jabez Spann was a 14-year-old who allegedly witnessed a murder. Then, he was murdered and people know who did it.

Allegedly, Jabez was in the wrong place at the wrong time on August 28, 2017. It is believed that he witnessed the murder of Travis Combs. It’s reported that he told some people that he knew who did it and a week later, he went missing. It was over a year before his remains were found in a more rural part of Sarasota, Florida.

Jabez allegedly witnesses a murder
Travis Combs was shot once and left for dead. It is believed that Jabez witnessed the murder and had told some people that he knew he did it.

He leaves the family BBQ
After playing a little basketball, Jabez left the BBQ because he wasn't wearing the right clothes for a game.

His family reports him missing
Having learned that he hadn't gone to school, Jabez's grandmother grew concerned. His mother called everyone she could think of and reported him missing to police.

Jabez's remains are found
A 911 call is placed from along Canal Road, in Palmetto, where a man had found skeletal remains. They were later confirmed to be Jabez, and it is believed that they had been there for a long time. It's around a 25-minute drive from where he was last seen.

The block where Travis Combs was murdered

In what is believed to be a robbery resulting in a homicide, Travis was killed in this area. Allegedly, Jabez and Ronald Parker saw the murder, but Parker has since recanted.

Where Jabez was last seen

He left a family's Labor Day party and it is believed that he went back to his grandmother's to change clothes.

Remains were found

A man repairing a fence found remains and called 911. They were later confirmed to be Jabez.
